You will not see the value of morality and codes of conduct unless you see the rising issues and threats facing our daily lives in every aspect, such as in politics, business, economics, relationships, and society as a whole. Just in social media, many negative things are caused by the immorality and irresponsibility of every individual, such as misinformation and disinformation, using immoral words to attack each other, showing immoral activities and attitudes publicly, and expressly seeding the affectations and misrepresentations.
For example, some people criticize their leaders brutally by creating a fake account in which there is no real reason for the criticism but only an emotional one. And because they feel that their identities cannot be found and are motivated by antipathy, they speak and comment to defame others. In addition, they spread many negativities and misinformation or disinformation to provoke anger and antipathy by twisting the truth. And because of the ambitions, ill will, and anger, we are consciously driving society and the whole nation into unrest and upheaval.
We also have seen numerous issues in trade and business such as immoral business, illegal trade, the exploitation of natural resources and fellow people, breaking promises, selling harmful products, destroying public health, and causing serious threats to nature and society.
Looking deeply into governmental affairs, you will see a lot of problems such as corruption, exploiting the national Treasury, exploiting the citizens through the services, and especially treating the government’s affairs like a business. All of these activities caused civil disobedience, civil demonstrations, and the decreasing of the values of the government officials, and sometimes led to very serious protests against the government, resulting in unrest in the whole society and nation.
Relationships, whether between states or between interpersonal individuals, are important factors in success and happiness. Good relationships have to be built on integrity and honesty, as well as respect for shared interests. However, we face a lot of troubles caused by the fake relationships. And especially a relationship that has no integrity, no honesty, and in which any party is extremely concerned only for their own interests. The result of cheating and exploiting is breaking the relationship and filing complaints against each other.
In conclusion, morality and upholding the principle of self-restraint are the key factors of social and interpersonal harmony. These principles help promote and make our world more peaceful, harmonious, and meaningful. It is very necessary that each and every one of us contribute to promoting these values through education, through social media, by acting as a good example, and by upholding these principles.
